Pam Brown
Life Science, Earth Science
Pam earned her BS from University of Wisconsin-Green Bay in 2011. Since then she has worked in the education field, teaching children as well as working for The Arc, where her ability to communicate and understand the needs of her students was invaluable. She has a love of learning, and in particular, a love of science. Pam is involved with teen discipleship ministry and loves how PEP’s education is an extension of discipleship.
LEAH CHAPPELL

Miss Chappell was homeschooled through her high school education. She went on to earn a BA in Music, with a minor in Music Performance from Florida State University. She has a passion for music and for teaching and is glad to be sharing her love for teaching since joining PEP in 2016. She is a multi-talented teacher who is loved by her students.
Christine Haithcock
Old Testament Survey, New Testament Survey
Christine received a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from the University of Central Florida in 1987 and worked in a private counseling practice and an inpatient treatment facility until the birth of her first daughter over 20 years ago. Since that time, she has been teaching Bible studies for women, teens, and youth in the church and throughout the community. She also speaks at various women’s and leadership events and assists her husband with business administration and marketing. In addition to life with her husband and two daughters (both PEP graduates), her greatest joy is spending time in God’s Word and sharing it with others. She is thrilled to be a part of the PEP program as a tutor at multiple campuses, as well as the administrator of the St. Johns campus.
Dabney Holland
Latin I, Latin II, Latin III, Logic
Dabney is thrilled to be returning to PEP as a tutor this year. She received her B.S. in Microbiology from the University of Memphis, and has taught in Christian schools and tutored privately for over 35 years. She is the proud mom of 6 children adopted from Mexico and Moldova, 2 of whom attended PEP while homeschooling. Her greatest joy in teaching comes from helping students discover how all knowledge points us back to our Creator, the Author and Finisher of our faith, the Lord Jesus Christ. Dabney and her photographer husband,Jeff, can frequently be found on outdoor adventures, enjoying the beauty of Creation while kayaking or hiking.
James Hough
Pre-Calculus, Conceptual Physics, Chemistry, Advanced Physics
Mr. Hough has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and American Government from North Carolina State University. In his four-year tour in the US Navy, he served as an Engineering Officer and Navigator. During his service, Mr. Hough also functioned as Education Services Officer and assisted sailors in gaining college credits and degrees. His passion for teaching and unique experience allows him to teach sciences, math, philosophy, and theology from a grounded biblical view. He continues to serve in various capacities for his home church, Sunrise Community Church. Mr. Hough is married to Morgan, and they have three children (Jonathan, Esther, and Zeke).
Laurie Joiner
Geometry, Algebra I, Algebra II, Calculus
Laurie has a BA in Mathematics Education from the University of South Florida. She has been teaching high school, tutoring, and working with homeschooled students for over 16 years. She is a returning PEP tutor and brings a love for teenagers and a clarity of explanation for difficult topics to the classroom. She helps out at her church by keeping the books and playing the piano along with her daughter who plays the guitar.
Heidi Manzone
World History, American History, Ancient History, Medieval to Early Modern History, Modern History
Heidi Manzone has a B.A. in History/Literature from the University of North Florida and a Masters in British History from UNF. She taught history at the University of North Florida for 10 years and has been teaching middle and high school for over ten years. In addition, she has been with PEP since the program came to Jacksonville in 2007. She also serves her church as the Director of Christian Education and has spent many years homeschooling her sons, who are both graduates of PEP. Heidi loves God, loves to teach, and loves to work with young people and feels blessed to be able to combine all three passions through PEP.
Joanne Mastronicola
Biology, Anatomy & Physiology
Joanne Mastronicola brings 20+ years experience to PEP. She loves science and teenagers and has had the pleasure of teaching both for many years. In addition, she works with homeschooling families in various capacities – serving with both state and local organizations. She is the author of Piecing Together the High School Puzzle and blogs occasionally. She is also slowly working through her graduate studies as time allows.
Julie Myers
Composition & World Literature (A)
Julie received her BA in Elementary Education in 1994 from Olivet Nazarene University with an emphasis in English and Literature. She has been teaching for 16 years, and with her husband Chad, is a dedicated parent of three beautiful girls, Cailey, Lauren, and Emma. Julie also enjoys teaching the Kindergarten class at the Church Of Eleven 22. She believes in the importance of impacting students in the classroom and also building relationships with them as she views teaching as an opportunity to minister to young hearts and minds.
Lynne Norris
Pre-Algebra, Statistics, French I
Lynne Hurley Norris is the founder and CEO of Diligent Solutions, LLC. She has been privately teaching and tutoring for over 40 years. Mrs. Norris specializes in math, specifically, Algebra, Geometry, Statistics, ACT/SAT Math Prep, and introductory level college business courses like Finance, Accounting, Economics, Marketing, and Management. Mrs. Norris' former professional life included 20 years in the banking industry. She earned an MBA from Johns Hopkins University and holds a BBA in Finance from Loyola University.Mrs. Norris has been married to her husband, Michael, for 18 years, and they have daughter, Liliana, who is a Core F student at the Mandarin campus.
Megan Peterson
Intro to Literature Analysis, Composition & American Literature, Composition & Ancient Literature
Megan Peterson graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in English, with a minor in creative writing. Her collegiate years were highlighted by her experience in leading and discipling others through her participation in campus ministry. She has a passion for reading and writing and is excited to share her passion with her students. This is her first year teaching, and she is eager to see the challenges and the growth that she and her students will experience.
Natalie Tedder
Rhetoric/Comp & Lit Analysis I, Rhetoric/Comp & Lit Analysis II, Ethics Bowl
Natalie earned her BA in Philosophy and English from the University of North Florida in 2019. Throughout her collegiate years she served as a learning coach for 2000 level ethical issues, a leader in campus ministry, and a regular volunteer in her church. Prior to attending UNF, Natalie was a PEP student at the Mandarin campus where she excelled academically. Her breadth of knowledge of Rhetoric and Philosophy married with her PEP experience is invaluable. She has a heart for teenagers and loves sharing both her passion for Rhetoric and her love for the Lord with them.
Samuel Uhland
Starting Points, Western Thought I, Western Thought II, Government & Economics, Intro to Theology
Samuel graduated from Jacksonville University with a double major in Accounting and Finance. While there he played for the Men’s Golf team for four years which included a NCAA National Championship appearance in 2017. He is now attending Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary here in Jacksonville with the aspirations to enter vocational ministry with his wife, Jessica. He attends Redeemer Church in Ponte Vedra where he serves in multiple capacities including youth ministry, prayer teams, and café management. Samuel loves deep conversations about the complexities of theology, but also loves playing board games with his family and friends. Samuel is also an avid sports fan; Go Jags!
