Mrs. Barr received her B.A. in English Education (grades 6-12) from University of North Florida in 2009. During her internship she had the opportunity to teach at several schools, including Sandalwood and Fletcher High School. Mrs. Barr has been classically homeschooling since her oldest son was in 3rd grade and has homeschooled her three sons continuously ever since with an exception of two years where she taught at a private Christian school in Lake County. Mrs. Barr is passionate about teaching teens and guiding them in the wisdom of the Lord. This is her second year teaching at PEP.
Western Thought I, Conceptual Physics
Mr. Burke is privileged to have tutored various classes at PEP’s three locations in the Jacksonville area (Starting Points, Western Thought I, Economics and Government, Conceptual Physics, Ancient History), and is please to return to the Mandarin campus. He is a native of St. Louis, Missouri, earned his undergraduate degree in electrical engineering (BSEE), and worked as an engineer in the aerospace and manufacturing industries for over twenty years. He completed an M.Div in Pittsburgh, PA, and served in the gospel ministry for over 30 years, moving to Florida in 1996 to serve as senior pastor of Ortega Presbyterian Church until his retirement in June 2017. Mr. Burke continues to serve the church through pulpit supply and as Stated Clerk of his denomination’s presbytery here in North Florida.
Mr. Burke married his best friend Vickie (McKissick) Burke in May 1971. He and Vickie reside on the West side and are blessed with four children and six grandchildren. They home schooled all of their children and have been active with home schooling in Kansas and here in Jacksonville in various capacities.
Mr. Burke enjoys his grandchildren, reading, gardening/yard work, amateur radio (WA0MKN), and serving area churches. He is passionate about teaching young people, especially in helping them develop and apply a Christian worldview to all of life as they take every thought captive for Christ and grow to live for God’s glory (Cf. 2 Cor. 10:5, 1 Cor. 10:31).
Life Science, Chemistry
Molly Carrico has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Tennessee Technological University of Cookeville, TN. She has six years experience as a chemical engineer, having worked for NASA, Eastman, and Pharmacia. She has taken projects from the initial lab stage all the way to the operational stage in the chemical plant. She has been a homeschool parent for 16 years, loves teaching, and is passionate about math and science. It is so rewarding to open up the wonders, complexity, yet logical order of God’s world to kids. Mrs. Carrico has been married to her husband, James, for 27 years. They have four children: Caleb (Cedarville University), Anna (Cedarville University), Sarah (PEP), and Elijah (PEP).
Wendy has a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. She also completed many fine art and architecture classes while studying at University of Arkansas. She has painted professionally off and on and recently completed two children's books. She and her husband, John, homeschooled their two children, who are now graduated. All are active members of Christian Family Chapel.
Geography, Saxon 8/7
Luann Eiginger has a Bachelor of Music Education from Samford University and a Master of Music Education from Indiana University. Along with music, she also received her teaching certification in General Education. Luann home schooled her four children and has been teaching at PEP since 2008. She is currently working at First Baptist Church as an accompanist and a piano teacher in the Performing Arts Center. Her desire in teaching at PEP is to instill a love for the Lord and an interest in reaching people all over the world.
Rhetoric/Comp & Lit Analysis I, English Grammar
Mrs. Feltel comes to PEP with a degree in Speech Communication and Public Relations from Valdosta State. For many years, she taught Accelerated English at various schools and has homeschooled for nearly a decade. She currently has three children at PEP. She and her husband volunteer regularly in the youth ministry at Christian Family Chapel where they attend church. She has a passion for literature and writing.
Western Thought II
Aaron serves as a pastor at Grace Community Church overseeing administration and the College and Career Ministry. A graduate of the Naval Academy, he served as an aviator and tactics instructor in the Navy until joining the staff at Grace Community Church in 2006. He has a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a M.Div. from The Expositors Seminary and is a published author of several children’s books. He is married to Corissa and they have been blessed with three sons - Andrew, Micah, and Caleb. He enjoys the outdoors, sports, and playing with his boys. He loves ministry to young men and women and is eager to help them think with a biblical worldview.
Josh is a Student Pastor at Fruit Cove Baptist Church where he was served since 2014. Josh has a Biblical studies degree from Liberty University and more than 18 years of student ministry experience. Josh and his wife Beth have 3 children, and are currently in the process of trying to adopt another (they currently have 1 adopted child.) Josh’s family is passionate about adoption and love sharing their story of adoption as often as they can. This is Josh’s first year teaching at PEP.

Josh is the pastor of Ortega Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville, and was previously involved in youth ministry and church planting in North Carolina and Georgia. He holds an M. Div. from Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. Josh is married to Christen and they have four children: Camdyn, Cayde, Carsyn, and Carolyne.

Becky has been married to Robert for over 25 years. She has been homeschooling her four children for 15+ years. Becky has taught in a co-op where she taught a variety of classes before becoming a PEP parent. She is a member of Christian Family Chapel, and she serves the Lord through the HOPE Center where she is a volunteer ACBC certified biblical counselor. She loves all aspects of the study of science because all creation points to our exceedingly wonderful Creator and Savior!
Geometry, Algebra II
Laurie has a B.A. in Mathematics Education from the University of South Florida. She has been teaching high school, tutoring, and working with homeschooled students for over 16 years. She is a returning PEP tutor and brings a love for teenagers and clarity of explanation for difficult topics to the classroom. Laurie is also involved in serving the Lord through her ability to play the piano beautifully. She has served as the main musician for many years.
American History, Ancient History, Medieval to Early Modern History, Modern History, Government & Economics, Yearbook
Heidi Manzone has a B.A. in History/Literature from the University of North Florida and a Masters in British History from UNF. She taught history at the University of North Florida for 10 years and has been teaching middle and high school for over ten years. In addition, she has been with PEP since the program came to Jacksonville in 2007. She also serves her church as the Director of Christian Education and has spent many years homeschooling her sons. Her two sons are both graduates of PEP. Heidi loves God, loves to teach, and loves to work with young people and feels blessed to be able to combine all three passions through PEP.
Old Testament Survey, Western Thought III
Michele McKee worked as a Radiologic Technologist then went back to school to study Magnetic Resonance Imaging. She worked in those fields for a 15 years. Michele managed the MRI department at Baptist Medical Center-Downtown for 8 years prior to staying home with her children. Michele and her husband Dave have 5 children who have all been homeschooled. In 2009, Michele completed her certification with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC) and has served as a biblical counselor at the Hope Center (CFC) since that time. She serves as a mentor to new female counselors and as an instructor for the Hope Center counseling training center. Her desire as a PEP tutor is for her students to “taste and see that the Lord is good.”
Bob Moore is currently a computer software engineer for GuideWell/Florida Blue, where he has worked since 2002. Bob has a Ph.D. in Experimental Physics from the University of Illinois and an MBA from Florida Institute of Technology. During his professional career, he has taught graduate level engineering classes at the University of Florida and University of South Florida and has trained extensively in computer software development. Bob and his wife Theresa have two grown sons. Bob began tutoring with PEP during the 2017-18 school year.

Lynne Hurley Norris is the founder and CEO of Diligent Solutions, LLC. She has been privately teaching and tutoring for over 40 years. Mrs. Norris specializes in math, specifically all Algebra, Geometry, Statistics, as well as ACT/SAT Math Prep, and introductory level college business courses like Finance, Accounting, Economics, Marketing, and Management. Mrs. Norris' former professional life included 20 years in the banking industry. She earned an MBA from Johns Hopkins University and holds a BBA in Finance from Loyola University.
Composition & World Literature (Core B), Algebra I
Amy Rait has a Master of Education degree from the University of Florida and has been teaching for over twenty years. As a teacher, she enjoys making connections with students through literature and discipleship. She is active at Mandarin Presbyterian Church as a Deacon, a Stephen Minister, and leading small groups. In her free time, Amy enjoys writing, all things music, and cuddle time with her dogs.

Ashley Workman is an eternal student who loves writing, literature, and the Spanish language. She received her B.A. in English with a Spanish minor from the University of North Florida. Her love for teaching began when she was a teen on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic. She has tutored privately and taught Composition & Literature and Spanish for many years, and is thrilled to share her passion for the Lord through teaching at PEP. Ashley has been married since 2006, and she and her husband have one sweet little girl.
